Easter Season

-Easter Season last for 50 days.
​
-Easter Season starts on Easter Sunday to Pentecost (the coming of the Holy Spirit).
​
-The Color of Easter Season in the church is white. White represents joy, purity and the resurrection of Jesus.

-Easter Season, we count Sundays as part of Easter. During Lent, we don't count Sundays as part of Lent.
​
-During the Easter Season you will see a long tall white candle inside the church. This is the Easter Candle. On the candle you will see the symbol on the candle of Alpha and Omega. Alpha means the beginning and Omega means end. So God is the beginning and end of Time. This candle is lit during mass for the entire Easter Season. The Easter Candle is also lit during baptism and funeral mass since God is the beginning and the end of life.

-After Jesus resurrection, Jesus stays with the disciples for 40 days before he ascends to heaven.
​
-When you pray the rosary, you would pray the Glorious Mystery.
​
There are 6 scriptures of Jesus during his 40 days after resurrection
​
-Mary Magdalene visits the tomb of Jesus. She is the first person to see the resurrected Jesus.
​
-Jesus appears to the disciples when their doors are locked. The disciples were fearful of being arrested but Jesus comes to them and says Peace Be With You.
​
-The Road to Emmaus. Two disciples are walking and totally disappointed that Jesus died. LIttle did they know that Jesus was walking with them but didn't recognized him.
-The Sea of Galilee. Jesus is cooking fish near the sea of Galilee. The disciples are fishing on their boats as they see Jesus. Jesus asked Peter Do You Love Me Three times. This is to test Peter after Jesus denied knowing him before.

-The Conversion of Paul. Saul was his name but Jesus made him blind on the road to Damacus. Jesus asked why are you persecuting Christians. He later changed his ways and his name was changed to Paul.

-The Final Ascension. Jesus tells the disciples that the holy spirit with come to them in Jerusalem. Jesus then ascends to heaven above the clouds.

Divine Mercy
-The Sunday after Easter Sunday is known as Divine Mercy Day. Saint Faustina was the one who told by Jesus about an image of Jesus with two rays. Red and blue. Red represents his blood and water pouring out during his death. The mercy of Jesus for all mankind.
